Springfield Marine Company
Springfield Aluminum Company was founded in 1952 as
a small sand cast aluminum foundry to provide castings for
a fence company and prospered into what it is today, by providing
quality castings for many diverse industries throughout the
United States. Today, fifty years later, Springfield Marine,
a division of Springfield Aluminum, continues to thrive providing
a vast array of product for the majority of boat manufacturers
and distributors in the United States and abroad, and till
this day is the leading supplier of quality seating and accessories
in the industry.
The leaders
of Springfield Marine soon realized that America was just
a starting point and driven by the vision of the Founder,
Garnett Carnahan and his wife Caroline, decided to take Springfield
Marine to the rest of the world. In 1990, they expanded their
efforts by opening a manufacturing factory in China. This
strategic location would enable them to effectively provide
their products for the overseas markets at a more affordable
cost and serve the domestic markets with their manufacturing
plant in Nixa, Missouri. The corporation now has agents and
maintenance service for regions across the globe that include
Asia, Australia, Scandinavia, Europe and the United States,
and has grown into the single largest supplier of seating
hardware for pleasure craft boats in the world.
Knowing that quality was the first concern in the industry,
we have invested the time and the financial resources to train
our employees to gain ISO9001L2000, Certificate No. L 0086-2002-AQ-RGC-RvAL
issued by DNV Certification B.V., The Netherlands. Springfield
Marine also holds one of the oldest foreign individual investment
licenses in Shanghai, China.
With the trend
of manufacturers to exploiting the Asian market and the Asian
market being eager to supply, Shanghai has become known as
the "Pearl Gateway". Garnett and Caroline needed a way to
bring buyers and sellers of various marine-related items together,
so they created a "one stop shopping center" in their factory.
Their in-house Sales staff bring the Customers into an environment
where they show Springfield's new products and the latest
trends covering a broad spectrum of product without the need
to travel from place to place.
To promote foreign
trade, in 2000, the Carnahans added a show room known as the
"China Marine Trade Center" to the China factory and encouraged
other manufacturers to display their products alongside their
own. This has shown tremendous success and plans for expansions
to the showroom scheduled for early 2003. |
